I have worked in mental health for more than 30 years, and I use a multi-modal approach, which includes insight-based theory and EMDR. As a therapist, I am always humbled and honored to hear clients' stories and be a part of each person's journey. Clients describe me as empathetic, warm, discerning and non-judgmental. I believe in meeting clients where they are, and I endeavor to provide a safe environment in which clients can work on problems and concerns, including trauma and deep pain.I am dual licensed in Washington State as a Mental Health Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. My Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology was earned from Gonzaga University. Before returning to private practice in 2016, I worked as a counselor/therapist for Elder Services, a division of Spokane Community Mental Health (now known as Frontier Behavioral Health); the American Embassy in Ankara, Turkey; Catholic Charities Counseling Services and Inland Psychiatry and Psychology. I have post-graduate training in Grief Counseling, Attachment Theory, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Marriage and Family Therapy.
